Integrated Audio Streamer

Built-in Hi-Res (192khz/24-bit) MBX audio streamer provides easy access to the most popular streaming services as well as casting from AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth and even local music stored on a USB stick or external hard drive. Fully compatible with Russound’s MBX-Series, feel free to add additional MBX-PRE streaming audio players so that everyone in the home can have their own personal audio streamer, available to them whenever they need it.

1. BTC-2X Input – Use with the optional Russound BTC-2X for adding an external Bluetooth receiver up to 500’ away from the SMZ8 so that distance from the SMZ8 never stops anyone from using Bluetooth wherever or whenever they would like
2. RNET Ports – Digital Connections for adding additional Russound audio sources such as the BTC-2 Bluetooth Source Kit
3. ARC Input – Connect to your TV’s ARC port for easily listening to your TV’s audio output from anywhere in the home without lip synch issues or lag
4. Digital Inputs – With an assortment of digital optical inputs (3), and digital coax inputs (2), feel free to connect your favorite audio sources, no matter their connection type
5. 12V Triggers – Perfect for keeping the SMZ8 active when sharing sources among rooms or for activating other devices like additional amplifiers for larger zones or your outdoor areas
6. Paging Gain Control – When using a paging source in the home, use this to tailor the volume level appropriately
7. Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Antennas – Removable external diversity antennas. Russound always recommends a wired ethernet connection whenever possible, but the SMZ8 fully supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz)
8. IR Outputs – 4 independent ports and 1 global IR output for sending IR control signals to connected source devices
9. Dual Ethernet Port with Built-In Ethernet Switch – Use this as an Ethernet port saver. Connect the SMZ8 to your network and then use the 2nd port to connect an additional network device

10. Controller ID Switch – Up to 6 SMZ8 controllers can be combined in a single system that supports 8 audio sources in up to 48 zones of audio. Use this switch to set a unique number for each controller in the system
11. Intelligent Reset Switch – Use to reboot the SMZ8, reset the Wi-Fi, or even perform a full factory reset depending on how long the button is pressed
12. USB-C Port – Use for listening to USB audio or for connecting an external USB hard drive
13. Analog Audio Inputs – Stereo RCA Analog Inputs (8) allow easy connection of audio sources
14. Streamer Audio Output – This dedicated streamer analog stereo output allows for simple sharing with multiple SMZ8 controllers
